HISC 228 Deleuze and Guattari: A Thousand Plateaus (Readings in Continental Theory)
Students read Deleuze and Guattari’s “A Thousand Plateaus” (1980) to explore its contemporary relevance for mobilizing radical alternatives, for liberating bodies and ecologies, for undoing noxious universalities and majoritarian politics, and for remaking vision, technics, and affect. Course, co-taught by Professor Dimitris Papadopoulos and Professor Maria Puig de la Bellacasa. “A Thousand Plateaus” is examined within the context of poststructuralist thought through a detailed chapter-by-chapter analysis, alongside related works.
