LIT 119A American Archives

Explores the relationship of archival research and theory to new ways of conceiving American literary study. The course includes literary readings and introduces students to changes in the field of American literature. Topics for discussion and exploration include new ways to conceive of American literature that includes marginalized and under-represented communities. Focuses on methodologies for research in digital and physical archives with the goal of expanding what counts as American literature. Distribution requirements: Research.
