Domestic Exchange Programs

UCSC has exchange programs with the University of New Mexico (UNM). UNM is located in Albuquerque, a city of approximately half a million population, situated on the banks of the Rio Grande. This option gives students the opportunity for an educational experience in an entirely different environment.

While enrolled in the exchange program, students maintain their status at UCSC, and they are expected to return to complete their studies following enrollment at UNM. UNM is on the semester system and students may participate in one semester or the entire academic year.

Participants are selected from among students who are in good academic standing. Successful applicants will be expected to confirm their participation at the beginning of spring quarter. Each department of study determines the applicability of UNM courses toward requirements for the major. Letter grades earned while at UNM will not be calculated into the UCSC GPA or the UC GPA.
