Songs from Violeta Parra, Victor Jara, Alfredo Zitarrosa, Chico Buarque, Silvio Rodriguez, and Atahualpa Yupanqui, and other participants or precursors of the movement are studied. Works are analyzed for their sociopolitical and cultural contexts.
