LIT 148C American Literature: 1900 to WWII

Surveys American literature in and around the climate of modernism. Beginning with texts written at the turn of the century, course ranges widely through the early to mid-20th century. Special attention will be given to works produced before and between World Wars, as well as to the various artistic, social and international movements characterizing that period.
