LIT 188N Poetry of the Spanish Diaspora

Speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in Spanish required. Focuses on the problematics of exile as it affects Spanish poetry, granting central attention to the period of Francoist dictatorship. Course work includes readings of Prados, Cernuda, Alberti, Altolaguirre, et al. Secondary readings on appropriate history and literary and cultural criticism.
